Single mom Flora (Eve Hewson) is at a loss for what to do about her rebellious teenage son Max (Orén Kinlan), who once again finds himself in trouble for petty theft. Encouraged by the police to find Max a hobby, Flora rescues a beat-up old guitar from a dumpster. But after Max quickly dismisses the instrument, Flora takes up online guitar lessons with Jack (Joseph Gordon-Levitt), a washed-up LA musician.

A bond forms between the two as Jack opens Flora’s eyes to the transformative power of music, which may ultimately prove to be the key to connecting Flora with her son.
